I made my first full beat in 1.5 tonight. My samples are not saving 90% of the time.I worked on 2 tracks tonight and they both have not loaded all the samples i recorded in the renaissance. There in the folder but they will not load or play.I tried diff file locations, renames etc.Everytime i record a sample now it doesnt save in the project. This is messing up my workflow and im bout to use my 1000 for now on if the ren keeps acting up.The samples i load off my hard drive save and load fine but the samples i record in the renaissance from my record player do not save/reload when i load up the project!!! they show question marks on the pads but no sample in site or in the sample pool.Someone please help me or gimme suggestions on what to do.Imma mess around a lil more and try different things.Hopefully i can get this worked out.

konc3pt wrote:Very strange, you mention different locations., I'm guessing you tried moving files to the hard drive that other samples load up no problem ?

I would load up the project, record a new sample and save as in a diff location hoping it would help but same prob.

Read the part about suspected causes.
What C-Wealth Music and Don Blake said are pretty much the exact procedure I did when I would get the problem.

As long as I avoid those habits I don't get issues with the ?Sample problem.

Still needs to be addressed by Akai but this keeps me from losing work.

THX! I did do a search before i made this thread but i never have luck looking for the prob or a similar one.ANYWAYS! One thing i noticed while i was browsing thru the settings was the Sample bit depth drop box was blank! WEIRD but i changed it to 16bit and everything seems to be working fine now,I HOPE.I did about 3 tests and it seems to be working.I did have the ren crash on me 3 times yesterday and that nasty static noise came back so i just shut everything off and stepped away.I was able to finish the track i was working on and it loads up fine, omnisphere and all settings correct.I really hope Akai fixes the Ren cause im having split second thoughts of gettin rid of it if they dont and just rock my MPC 1000/SP-404 combo that doesnt gimme any probs at all.I just hate my workflow being stopped by errors that shoulda been fixed a along time ago and if it keeps happening then i gotta work with what i know and sumthin that wont gimme any problems.Anyways i hope my fix i discovered solves my prob! Until then, back to work.

Do you mean the project with the "?" loaded correctly after checking the sample bit rate box?
That would be crazy because the last time I saw it happen I checked that box while working on something and when I went to reload it "?"

Ok, I don't think anyone has seen it as a continual problem thus why I mentioned the probable cause of the situation.

All I can say is I know those are the clearly the stuff I did when it would show up and as long as I avoid them it's business as usual.

Since I can't use auto-save in software it's important for me to not cause issues in any software program.

I sent the following to a forum member thinking they would share it:

1. I think the issue may be possibly due to sample bit depth settings when you recorded your samples. Go into MPC Preferences -->Other. Ensure 'Sampling Bit Depth' is either 16 or 24 bit. If it is Off or blank...be sure to set this field. No go ahead and record some samples, make a program, save and reload your project.

2. Just to be sure to see if your samples were recorded in the right format...on a Mac, right click the samples you recorded that won't load and select 'Get Info.' In 'More Info' verify the Sample rate, Bits per sample, Audio channels, etc. Let me know what you find.

If the sample bit depth is not set to 16 or 24 bit, your samples may record in a format that may not reload into the MPC Software.

THX! Im on a PC so when i right clicked the sample i recorded in the project folder it had no info at all nor would it load.Ever since i switched to a proper sample rate its been fine.
