In Cubase if you drag a file in from the desktop that has a mismatched sample rate to the project, you invariably get a sample with a messed up pitch in comparison to the other tracks. Does this happen across other DAWs?
The reason I ask is because I sent a track out to have a bassline added and the fella sent it back with the tuning in-between semitones, claiming the track was "out of tune". I gave him a 24/48 file, and I'm guessing he's dragged it into a 44.1 project.
Trying to Auto-tune or Melodyn a bass part seems virtually impossible without introducing artefacts.
