Discuss the various methods you use in music production, from compressor settings to equipment type.

O.k guys, so I went to basics and followed the tutorial but there's a few things I need to know before starting anything.

When I go into Song mode it has already put all my tracks into one sequence but to create songs sometimes there's gaps in drum loops, pads etc. How do they get split so I can structure the song properly, is it a matter of a drum per sequence.

Can loops be copied to other tracks and edited instead of repressing all the pads again?

and lastly How do you hear the Song in Song mode?

Any videos or tips, it'll be quite hard to take if I created music and realised it can't be edited.

I'm in need of a blueprint for MPC Studio, My Samples are formatting like my drums my drums are configuring like my samples a blueprint like:

Kick = Sequence1 Program1 Track1
Snare = Sequence1 Program1 Track2
Hi Hat = Sequence1 Program 2 Track2

Sample piano = Sequence2 Program1 Track1

Pads = Sequence3 program2 track1

Doesn't matter the Genre, as long as I can create a full track, I will make style alterations later. surely there's some seasoned pros here.

Try this.

One shot drums can go into the same program.
Piano full keyboard layouts go into there own program.
Pads full keyboard layouts go into there own program.

All of what you have above is cool with being in the same seq.
Every sound needs its own track, makes mixing easier later on.

I changed some stuff in your layout quote above, check it.

No I don't have a ren/studio but some stuff is universal or damn near universal enough among gear to be learned/used for various machines/gear/workstations.

My chopped samples are still taking over some of my drum notes in program1, any ideas?

Edit: I think it's because I created my own program for the sample instead of letting it do it itself.

Edit: it's done it again.

Maybe that program is in MONO (every other sample cuts off each other and only one plays at a time).

Change the program to POLY (every sample plays nicely with others and won't cut them off).

I couldn't understand the poly mono stuff so I figured if my samples were converted and I chose the option "create Event" it puts the samples in the song already then I deleted them and play it myself it doesn't get involved in other instruments.
