Yes, am wondering how much the drift ends up actually being. Will give it a test when I get a chance.
Much more accurate to use a visible sync click/pulse/etc. in the audio on all tracks, before or after the music, and then to line them up visually after tracking.
Would be interested to see if the slop measures something like the 1/4 frame I read about. At 44.1kHz, with a 30 fps framerate, it might equate to 367.5 samples of random sync slop on each pass.

Yes, we were also discussing this in regards to the MPC3000.
It will probably apply to all hardware MPCs.

I think that not being able to lock up with sample accurate sync is more to do with the protocol, rather than having more MIDI data on the cable.
