I'm running pre-sales tests on my MPC60 Mk1, which has been boxed since the late '90s. All seems fine apart from the floppy drive, which is showing the "error code ff80" thing when Disk functions are attempted.
I've only one DD disk to hand so am wondering if it may be a dud.
The red drive light shows for a few seconds at startup, but there is no seeking sound when the disk is inserted or when any disk option is selected. Should there be?
Also, if the drive is toast, can an S1000 floppy drive be swapped in?
