Coming from MPC 3000 going to MPC Studio

Hey,

No this is not a versus thread. I would just like to know if anybody came from a MPC 3000 to using the MPC Studio. How was it? Was there anything that you missed from the 3000 that wasn't in the Studio? Just a thought that's itched my mind but would like to hear from current users experiences. Thanks.

As cheap as a Studio is just get it, compare the two and make a decision for your self.

It's not like you have to sell the 3k to get the Studio.

I haven't missed a thing. Some times I miss the 4k and 5k, but that just cause sometimes I want to just want to just bang out some beats as a foundation for things to add later, without having to need to power on my laptop.

I do like that I have much less limitations of RAM (number and size of loaded samples), larger and faster storage (as well as using cloud storage to access my saved data almost anywhere I go), and unlike many, I like to be able to look at and edit many things in 1400x900 color than 240x64 mono, but that's just me.

If I did not have the MPC studio today and was randomly given any former MPC (OK 500 was my least favorite because of pads and screen), it wouldn't change the sound of my music so much as my workflow. I have done it before and can do it again, but admit that since I have given software 'a chance', I like it and can do either hardware or software or both.

This is all opinion and of course opinions vary.

Like ntalec said above, I wouldn't say sell the 3k but would say studios are much cheaper than when many of us purchased any of our hardware. Give it a go, try a friend's, and see how it works for YOU. Small investment, considering most already have computer to connect to.

If you plan on selling that MPC 3000 LE of yours, let me know. You can buy at least 3 Studios from that sale.

I had a studio with my 3k le. It was a good idea since I can load my 3k projects on the software. Good for tweaking and mixing stuff. But I sold it because nothing gets done once I hit the computer. Just a personal thing. I hate computers.

Just an FYI that I would not sell my 3000 to buy a Studio, if I were, I would sell the 3000 and use the money to buy a Studio and a MacBook Pro laptop... That's if I decide to let it go.... IF.

Damn MaZe, didn't you own 3000 or LE? What happened?

i bought the studio coming from the 3k.
i hated the studio from the first day. but this feeling went.
it was the same when i came from the 2500 to the 3k, so i thought i´ll give it a try.
it is like stepping into the delorian an moving 25 years in the future.
makes some things easier, but this software thing is not running stable.
this is crazy, i needed to install like 2h for this shhhhitty software and all
these plugins.... danm....
but after 4month i am down with the stuio, but everytime i feel like cheating
on the 3k. the good thing is, that you can chop easily. and you save a lot of time...
AND it is crazy, that you can now use more than one program at the same time.
what i don´t like is that you cannot adjust the volume of the recorded sample at the hadrware and in the software as well....

and you can now make beats where ever you want. this is a dope feature.

Coming from the 3k? Go to an MPC500.
