i have a microwave xt and connect the synth with the mpc. the microwave has the option to "collect" sounds to multi instruments. i did a (multi) program with different sounds and different midi channels. in midi sync mode i switched the soft thru to track (and also the other options omni etc.). however, there is no reaction from the synth sound on channel 2/3/etc. just playing midi channel 1.

how can i assign different channels to different tracks? e.g. track 1 is midi channel 1, track 2 is midi channel 2, etc.

thanks in advance

You should be able to set the track type to MIDI, and choose the MIDI output channel/port, in the MPC track settings, which is the lower half of the MPC main window.

Does your Main Screen look like this?...

If so, the track settings are the lower part of the window.

Can you change the Type: of track from DRUM to MIDI?

Can you change the Midi: field to something other than OFF?

There should be a choice of MIDI channel/port in the Midi: field, you should be able to change it to 1A/2A/3A...16A, 1B/2B/3B...16B.

hi, thanks a lot!

i made a mistake. i choose TYPE: MIDI, switched the PGM OFF and set MIDI to 1A. I didnt know the option to scroll. now i have 16 As, 16 Bs. it should work! i was thinking the midi option allows only the midi source from the back panel.

tonight i connect the mpc and the microwave.
i am delighted!
