We know about the ADR15 which is clearly a prototype MPC60Mk1 (shown below) minus the tilt screen we all know and love.

But look at this 2006 article from Dazed & Confused, Roger is seen holding what appears to be an earlier prototype which is somewhat different in appearance. Pic is on page 2 of the PDF, described as "Linn with his first MPC in 1987". It looks more like a prototype MPC60II, but in 1987??

Dope, informative article by the way, be sure to read if your an avid MPC historian.

Maybe Mike McRoberts knows something about this?

the angle on that tilt is perfect by the look of it.. maybe even a bit too tilted...

it does look like it had to be the influence of the 60ii... I suspect this wasn't in 87, I bet that other one is the real prototype and this one is the prototype for the mark 2.

I doubt it, when he spoke a here a few weeks ago he didn't seem to care about hanging on to all that stuff. He said he gave most of tthe older stuff and prototypes away to friends and family.

I agree with everyone though, this looks like an early mk2. I can't imagine a workflow in a different order, but hey leave it to companies todo shit ass backwards sometimes so we could be wrong. :-D

wow! the hard edges on that "wannabe" 60II makes it look like a cash register or an oversized calculator

But IMO very nice design

When I got my 60, a housemate of mine came in, took one look and said "are you playing shops today?" like I was a 7 year old girl!

He wasn't really much of a music head.
