There are so many Neve pre and EQ clones around, it is hard to know which one will give you the closest sound to the original 1073/1081/etc.

From what I have read, Geoff seems to have the Neve background, and technical skills, to give the Neve goodness with a more detailed high end.

I am drooling over you having Aurora stuff...I'm sure an Aurora 12 channel sidecar is way out of my price range!

Just to say if you plan to use the interface as an ADAT aggregate, you won't get 8 channels of 96kHz. I seem to remember S/MUX will allow 96 rates but I think it halves the number of available channels.

I don't think 96kHz sampling will benefit much but some swear they can hear the difference. I guess nowadays, using 96kHz is largely dependent on your computer's storage and RAM.

On my cards 96k halves the channels.

Just wanted to say a couple things here. I've been using the Aurora Audio equipment for a long time now and every piece is amazing!!! To the guy that was wondering about which compressor to get, you won’t regret an Aurora...In opto, it’s extremely smooth and gluey...In fet, it gets pretty nasty in a good way!! The only piece I haven’t owned or used is the sidecar and if he makes a console 24 + channels, I might have to sell some things Geoff Tanner is a hell of a great man as well. Really humble and I've learned alot from him...As far as converters go, the sample rate thing has always been a tricky discussion so I'll say one thing I know to be fact. Different converters sound better at different rates. My old school Apogee adda sounds good at 48 and my Lavry sounds better at 44....
