Hey guys,

Hope someone could help me out. My MPC will not show any signs of life when i hit the power on switch.

Any known methods of troubleshooting / ways to find what the exact problem is ?

Thanks in advance...

It could be so many things. You really have no starting point except to carefully open up the machine. (ice cube tray/post it notes for keeping the screws in order is a good Mike@MPCStuff trick).

Then check any computer style ribbon connectors, molex style plugs etc. Make sure everything is seated properly. Also check for any sign of components having been burnt, brown coloring on a capacitor for example. I suppose check the the actual mechanics of the switch part itself see if proper contact is being made.

It's likely someone else who had a power up issue will post and maybe be able to help narrow down the most likely culprits for your issue from prior experience.

But yeah taking a look inside is the place to start. And if it is electrical, other guys here are well versed in that stuff.

Good luck man.

Sure thing man. Post pics if something looks wrong, and there's tons of pics here of both working units and ones with issues.

Like I said if you pinpoint an electrical issue there's lots of soldering, multimeter having techy guys here who know all about that stuff.

first I'd start with basics, check another power cable, outlet. cant remember if mpc PSU got fuse you can check. take it apart and inspect visually for any burnt up. leaked capacitors. bust out with fluke meter start tracing back on the circuit board.

did you buy it like this or it suddenly stopped working ?
