Transferring files from pc to mpc3000

I did a search but didn't find my answer yet....
Basically I been using my 3000 with a zip 250 for a couple weeks and just now got a parallel joint for my PC. When I try to open the disk that I formatted on the MPC in MPC editor ,it aint even there. Also can't read pc formatted on the MPC. What is the real deal here? From the search I did it seems like others aint havin this problem. I'm runnin Win2000 NTFS BTW

I'm pretty sure you have to format your disk on the PC in FAT format before it will work.

Oh, I see why, no MPC3000 in that list.

As far as the PC reading MPC3k disks, check the MPC Editor manual. There is a feature in the Editor just for it.

My fault Denzekiel, for some reason I thought I was in the 2000Xl/2000 forum. I guess that is what I get for skimming.

I read the manual and I only found these two lines relating to MPC3000 and disk formatting:
"When exporting for MPC3000, the drive will need to be in MPC3000 format or formatted using the Disk Formatter utility in the Disk menu (XP only)"

"Windows XP and MPC3000/60 limitations: XP may not mount a MPC formatted Zip drive. If using a MPC3000 or MPC60 and XP, use the Disk Formatter under the Disk menu."

Since I use Windows 2000 this doesn't work for me so am I SOL or wut?

Well I still haven't resolved this little item which is actually a big f**** deal since most of my sampling is done on the computer..... I guess I'll have to upgrade to XP or something.....or drop the 3000

does anyone know where this "disk formatter utility" is located? how about the "disk menu"? i have xp and cannot find either of these things...

Check your version. I think this is a new addition to the program. The latest I think is 3.0.38. Peace

You only need to format ONE disk on a machine that is running XP using the MPCEditor. Maybe you have at least one friend that is running XP. What is it now? A five minute job that has lasted 8 days?

Ive been just working around it by resampling my audio outs from the PC but yeah I need to find someone who has XP. Thanks for the input tho. Peace
