mpc 2000 classic New floppy drive and i still get the disk r

hello i'v tried 5 different start disks... what can it be??? when i first changed the floppy it worked the first time, then it stopped someone heeeeeelp!

what exactly is not working? when you turn it on it doesn't find the disk or asks for it? or is there an error with the disk?

also what exactly did you put on the disks?

i have the 1.72v on a floppy disk formatted to FAT in windows.

it asks for the start disk, i put it in then i get the disk read error. i take the disk out the then it asks for it agein. its a new floppy drive in the mpc

either your floppy drive is dirty or busted... or you need to get a brand new floppy disk and try that out.... i suggest trying a new disk first.... then if it doesn't work then put a new floppy drive in and try that.

what version of windows did you use? XP ?

Also, you mention 1.72v, but can you confirm the disk has the .sys and .exe files to boot the mpc2000 ?

it may be that the floppy drive is busted.

i have both the sys file and exe file in a windows xp FAT formatted floppy disk. i bought a new floppy drive from mpcstuff

im sure it's either the drive (which it sounds like it is) or it's the disks are all ****... which is actually possible (especially if they were left in the drive while it was running... you should always eject floppy disks)

so yeah.. try a new never before used floppy disk. then if that does not work.... replace the drive.

got a new drive next week! will try it out

the shit dosen't work with the new floppy drive!!!!!!! paaaain

I would check the connection from the ribbon cable to the board. Reseat it and try it again.
