Effects Board

like ive stated before, i swear by my card. I only use the 2000 in my productions, and that card gets a good workout every beat. I think cats that dont like it dont know how to freak it. but hey what do i know? i never really used any other gear so im biased

The EB-16 board is a good tool in my opinion. FX are good, can't compare to a TC/Lexicon even not ASR's FX, no way.

But coming as an option it add more features (with the multi FX) then the only "echo FX" on the MPC3000...
EQ/Filter is what I'm using the most on it... Before owning the card, when i messing with the filters in Pgm screen, I was like "what the f****?" when filtering some kind of samples...
Since I've got the card I'm more like"yeah that's the deal"!!!

Sure I'm not using Reverb/Echo when mixing... i've got my P-T with full great plugs!

Adding the EB-16 make the 2KXL, a more complete tool, that's basically the purpose of a workstation....

In terms of sound quality and features, the FX card is on a par with many budget FX units of that time (Alesis and such). I used to have one way back and I recall that most fx sounded tinny and nasty at worst, and plain but useful at best. What makes it worth having (for some) is the fact that it integrates with the MPC, so it's portable and convenient. Plus it's basically 4 FX units in one so you get a lot of bang for your buck. If you need your FX to be inside the MPC, it's your only option, and a workable one.

If your MPC is a part of a studio (8 outs, mixing desk etc.) you can get better sounding and more flexible external FX. But It will be hard to find 4 seperate FX units plus cables for the same money as a s/h FX board... Hot tips: a s/h Lexicon MPX100 costs next to nothing and does a very decent reverb, plus other useful FX, midi synced and everything. Zoom units (1201) do tons of wild and lo-fi stuff, and are very cheap. Guitar pedals and those half-rack Boss units are another cheap source of good FX (not reverb though, stick with TC or Lex for that).

Ok ok. I've been a little hard on the thing.

Ther rotary speaker is dope, for rhodes, other keys and pads sounds.
The lfo's on the 4 band filter are also great to.
Reverse & Gated Reverb is cool.

Exactly, the EB16 is really good! I use the reverb a little on my mixdown.. My Snare's are soundin' great..

Dont sleep on the EB16 and cop yours.. Peace

yo lo-fi, i never use eb-16 revb for a final mix, never said that ...
but when rec a seq, or rec a sample you migth need some fx, that's where it's good to have the eb-16. not for final mix...
Also as mention by nanoloop, gated rev is cool!!!
