hey,
just found out that when you build a song, you can't 'rely' anymore on the track mutes
it just plays you last muted tracks (on the seq. in question)
so how do you guys build a song?
do you copy your seq. and use the copied seq. to build songs?
or one step further, chain a few seq., convert them to 1 (new) seq. and take it from there?
like to hear how u do it...

I think there is a toggle for this. If I am understanding your statement correctly.
I can't remember which screen maybe GLOBAL somewhere, but I thought you could set it so that the mutes stick between sequence changes.

I just copy sequences. Instead of track mutes, I just delete. Luckily, I have developed this habit from the very start.

Can't you use a combination of the "next sequence" and "track mute" functions to build beats and arrange your sequences on the fly?

I'm still waiting on my 4k to arrive so I'm just speculating but I'm sure that was possible on my old XL...

but i need to mute several (10+) tracks at just the right spot (some contain -only- cc info, some are in A then E layer) and then to choose the right - next sequence

that is just a bit too much information for my shrouded brain to send to my finders

Mute groups?!

Different multi mixer mutes while recording use the fader for drop outs, drop ins??!

could do indeed, but as you said, you almost need an entirely new setup (MULTI?) for every new song

even so, most of my programs are keyed in/smeared over on different tracks
so if i would do a mute group/prog in a MULTI, then i would mute/fade all those tracks at once, no?

i guess i'm down to copying seq. to the ones that need to be used in songs...
