hi,

I connected my midi-keyboard (only midi) with my mpc 2000xl (midi-in of course).
what I wanna do is to play sounds from the mpcs sampler and/or sounds from my S900 (connected per midi-out, can play on it with mpc's pads).
my problem with playing sounds per keyboard on the mpc: every key on the keyboard got a different sound, like the assigned pads. I only want to play 1 sound on all keys, octaves..or like the 16 level-button with tone variation.
any hints?...

peace..

If you have the XL look into Auto Chromatic assignment. It will spread one sample over all 64 pads.

I know how to assagin this to the pads... my problem is how I play one sound on the midi-keyboard.

Yeah, you're just missing out by not doing what I said.

It's easier on the S900, but the MPCs have no Range function.
1 Pad = 1 MIDI note, and you have to do each note individually. Assign the sample, set the correct tuning, repeat... it gets easier with practice, I do this with pianos, mellotrons etc. on the MPC1000.
