Note repeat while using MP as a midi controller

Is there any way to get the note repeat or 16 levels to work while using the MP as a midi controller? It would be nice to note repeat some of the drums in my exs 24 in logic.

Have not tried it with an MPC controller.

But with something like an MPD, you have to send MIDI Clock from the DAW/sequencer to the MPD, so that the MPD Note Repeat function has a tempo to repeat the notes along with.

Maybe something similar with the MPC controller, in controller mode, if implemented by Akai...have you tried sending MIDI Clock to it from Logic?

Hmmm... Good idea. I haven't tried that yet.. I think i'm going to when i get home.

Note repeat works for sure. I'd have to double check 16 levels, it's been awhile. The MPC pads are usually as good or better than a MIDI controler so I don't use 16 levels really.

BTW An MPD note repeat has to have the DAW take MIDI clock from the MPD, and it's pretty sloppy. I never use it.

Your best bet to make this happen smoothly is to use the MPC software as a plugin in your DAW. You then route the MIDI out through your DAW to the channel you want to use Note Repeat on (ie logic drum sampler etc...). While using a MIDI track in the MPC software you will be able to send Note Repeat out to other instruments in your DAW. (Unless it does support note repeat in controller mode which would be easier to set up, though I don't think it does because all buttons just become assignable to MIDI CC etc... not 100% though)

My bad, I didn't know what forum I was in. I thought the question was hardware MPC's sending note repeat MIDI messages.
