Support and chat about Akai's range of MIDI controllers, including the MPD. MPK and LPD

Hey guys
Can someone please help me out with this. I have an MPK25 hooked up to my Logic Pro 10 and for some reason, my "B" note does not play on the keyboard. If I go up the scale on the keyboard, note by note just to check each key, it'll sometimes play and I really mean sometimes, then after that it won't play at all. :hmmm:
So fricking lost cause I don't know why this is happening.

I have no idea but maybe try this-

-Press the PRESET button.
-Scroll to the first preset, LiveLite, and press Enter.
-Then repeatedly press the > key until the screen reads FACTORY DEFAULTS.
-Next press Value Knob down (like a button) to confirm your preset selection.
-Your presets will now be restored to their factory defaults.

If it persists it may be a mechanical issue as opposed to the MIDI message problem.

There's also the option to re-flash the firmware. I recall someone here having a tough time getting that going. I was going off how my MPD has essentially the same controls and preset resetting and firmware re-flashing steps.

The re-flash is done with the MPK hooked up and the Vyzex editor app running. It will do SysEx MIDI dump to the MPK to carry out the firmware re-flash.

The file you'll need for the re-flash is linked on a dropbox account from a poster in this thread, I think Vyzex maybe didn't have it up on their site.

Sorry to hear that. As I mentioned it's the MPD 32 I have. But the LCD and preset layout are essentailly the same as are the firmware update functions through the Vyzex app.

I never had a problem, I had to update the firmware to a newer revision when I purchased the MPD. I have at times had better luck with 2 standard MIDI DIN cables than over USB, but that requires a DC power pack being used.

I hope you didn't have the unit get "bricked" through some corruption or in completion of the firmware re-flash and can try again.
