XL-LCD like mpcstuff but in color, touchscreen feature would be nice with stylus option but not necessity....4 physical sliders with toggle button for mixer, thunderbolt and or firewire 800 or usb3 ports

I have no real problems with it the way it is, but ..... A larger flip up screen would be nice, I don't care about color as I don't plan to watch movies on it.

Some faders would be cool, few more knobs.... a "built in" computer option would be nice.... but I don't think they will have new Hardware until perhaps the end of 2014 or early 2015..... if at all.

Yeah.. That's actually a really good idea... Somewhere to attach your laptop too... or hide it inside the controller..
Since they are headed down this new route, why not ditch the hardware screen, and add a slot for the ipad or andriod tablet to sit in... Obviously add a app that displays/and controls mpc software..

Basically recommend that this new mpc works best with a mac mini/ laptop(windows aswell) plus ipad/tablet combo, ....

You can already basically do this with vnc/airdisplay but the controllers(ren) just can't house the other products....(tablet and laptop)

The other features i'd like would be to add more analog outs.. So that it can track out to a mixing console in the studio and live....

I'd love for them to make another all in one unit, but i don't think they ever will...

- USB 3.0
- High end A/D D/A Converters
- Large screen

... what else ? An evenmore nice Software really working as a DAW. Not just as an enhanced MPC. A Rock solid software with a global mixer above the track/Seq Mixer and everything automotion-able.

- Bus, groups, unlimited amount of audio Fx tracks and sends. ROUTING
- Preset manager for Fx Inserts. Vu-Meter with peak value showed.
- RMS and PEAK showed on a master Vu-Meter.
- Audiotracks, with internal bounce capabilities.
- Audio input Fx inserts with low latency direct monitoring.
- Midi functions, Midi Inserts. Midi to Fx Insert for vocoders plugins I.E.
- Fx Chain like in Ableton, with Audio and Midi sidechains .. etc... basic daw stuffs.

but that's again an off-topic  I have a lot of hope, and love it btw.

FTW It Will be a REN-vO-Lution !

If the Ren is dropped like the Fly or 5000 with a short lifespan Numark will have to go all software if the MPC brand is to survive. Nobody is going to get burned again with their "stitch it -then ditch it" way of doing business. The next MPC will likely be a USB dongle. this thier lasr stand. Numark knows it and so does NI.

Numark isn't going to try keep in step NI. They were already several years behind at launch. By the time Numark catches up with Maschine 2.0 NI will be dropping 3.5 a new box, and Numark shills will still be talking about where NI was in there product development 5 years ago to justify the launching of a lacking product

^ this.

But I think it's more like "when" they drop the ren, not "if". IMO, they have to drop it and come up with something to catch up. There's nothing they can do to the current hardware platform to catch up. Think about it this way, in roughly a year after releasing their flagship product, the competition releases the next platform. That's not playing catch up, that's like being lapped. Lol. Software / product sales rely on the late adopters to continue revenue. But if the competition releases a new version when you're entering your late adopter phase, it kills that late life cycle revenue.

Only a new product will close that gap, or eliminate it. OR!!! This is why I keep saying this... Change lanes back to stand alone and release a hybrid. Eliminate the need to close the gap and play catch up. If part of their pitch was, "the only standalone product on the market that integrates as a plugin in a daw..." Instant differentiation. Might cost more for the consumer, but if I could get new gen capabilities, with proper plugin capability, and it integrates with my daw or stand alone, I'd pay that price without hesitating. Keep the ren for those that want an inexpensive controller.

IMO, make the studio the entry level, the ren the mid level, and release a hybrid as the top line. The problem, IMO, is that the ren was released as the flagship, when in reality it should only be the mid level. The fly / essentials? Just drop it from the line up all together. Same with those ridiculous iOS products.

My .02. And I obviously don't run akai, so what do I know? Lol. Just have an opinion is all.

It's another solution :)

I would Add a tactile surface to browse and pinch to zoom in the sequencer and the Track window :) Classy

How more high end would you want them to be.. It's pretty good on the ren i think..

This is the key selling point... Intergration... Not just with software but with hardware aswell... Hardware intergration... Using the midi to it's full potential... I can't believe that the software can't have multitimbral midi input.

I think the a pgm in mpc shouldn't just be samples on a pad.. You should be able to output a sample layer and a midi layer.. per pad... That would introduce a whole new level of intergration and control.

Numark owns Alesis ...

If their RD has any wit they´d slap an ADAT I/O (even x2 seeing they own the license) on the new hardware  , thus users could pick up the likes of Behringer 8xIO rack´s with Midas analog preamp´s (http://www.behringer.com/EN/products/ADA8200.aspx) amazing value!! .... or even some mad high end for the high rollers.... how about $5k+ AD /DA on your MPC 8) ..

 users could customize their IO with whatever they could afford ... ADAT is industry standard stuff and Numark owns both Akai and Alesis ..
but the MPC UI needs a major facelift aswell, a larger color screen only; doesn't cut it alone ... (I´m drawing up sketches of a new UI this weekend)..
