Audiomatic Retro Transformer

It'd be real cool if Akai implemented something like this in the software. More "vintage modes" that emulated other things aside from just different samplers.

It is a bit of a toy-ish idea, but a creative one too.

I dig the Audiomatic, too. Although using Soundflower (and being okay using your built-in output) you can track any MPC stuff into Reason, so you might be able to use it live on your channel, or you could just resample this way.

That's awesome if you have Reason 7. But I'm talking about having something in the software itself for people who don't have that available.

Try VST effects like distorsion, analog tape modeling, downsampler, etc... associated with EQ and Comp. It should do the same things. Just the CV is missing for LFO or EG ...

Camel crusher is free. Decimort is good as well.

Yeah, I have Camel Crusher (also other tape/analog modeling plugins including actual tape and analog gear), but it's not the same. See, the gift in this is that you sort of have to use your imagination, and find the best fitting sound without being precise on what's actually going on in the plugin. And the vintage modes work the same way. Except for the SP1200 Ring Mode plug, but that's just the decimator...
