MPC studio, recording problem

Hi everyone, recently i got an MPC studio and i must say that im new to the whole MPC system. Im approaching step by step this instrument and his software and im doing quite good.
I got a simple question for you all MPC veterans: during the registration in the main mode, how can i play my samples (a bass, for example) for the time i touch the pad? I mean, by now, only in the main mode, when i touch a pad the sample sounds for all his lenght, and im struggling trying to find out the solution for my problem.

In Program Edit mode, in the PAD PLAY MODES section, change SAMPLE PLAY from ONE-SHOT to NOTE-ON.
