Please let this happen and be successful so at least some of the negativity can stop. I'm a little tired of seeing some of the negative speculation.......

There are always going to be naysayers and endless complainers. I greatly enjoy my MPC Studio and now the Ren as well. Some feel differently. Some of those are owners and have legitimate complaints. Others are tortured souls that need an outlet.

Another update will not make these MPC's perfect for everyone. My advice always is to use what works for you, don't worry about everyone else. So, if the Ren/Studio work for you, use them. If not, find something that does.

I hope the OP finds that "something" for them.

The MPC REN in its current state is doable. Not too shabby and if you really wanted to; you can bang out a quick clean beat and lay some vocals and the day is saved. My only gripe right now is the plummeting value of the MPC REN. Its going to be 299.99 if they keep this up. That would be very sad that alot of us are going to lose 1000 bones overnight. Oh well, life goes on...i guess.

At this point if the Ren went down to $99 I would still be pleased with my purchase. I don't know what other people are doing with theirs, but I really love the convenience of mines so far. Granted, I just got mines about a month ago, but so far so good.

Price drops are not going to make me stay clear of the Ren. I love my MPC Studio and I do catch an offer I can't refuse on a Ren, I will add that to the arsenal also... keep it home and take Studio along with me

I feel the same way. I've got plenty of work done with my Ren and love it. I have a wishlist for extras and improvements as well but regardless of that I'm real happy with my purchase.

It looks like most folks are saying that it is safe to buy a Ren/Studio huh? The 1.5 update maybe did make the MPC software a viable contender.

Color me intrigued because I have been holding off big time on getting a Studio to complement my 4k.

Boogie, I seen used studio under $300 on guitarcenter's used site... Trust another 4k user, its not a bad move. Paid over $400 for mine but no regrets

Do I need to swing by and let u take the studio for a test drive so u can know for self and not have to base ur decision completely on what the critics say....

I tried it at Guitar Center a while back before the major updates and I just didn't "speak" to me. I kinda wanna use it as a mobile sketchpad and export the files so I can finish them in the 4k and vise-versa.

I'm right around the corner from Westlake so sure, you can be my guest. The Migos are remodeling my house right now so the "Trackhouse" is offline till the 1st of the year.

Aren't you on the southside..? I bought my 4k from a dude in Riverdale for 8 bills a few years ago...

Yes, just a few blocks from south ATL high, just off 285.

Bouncing back and forth between the Studio and the 4k doesn't sound bad.

Sounds like you already gave it a shot and at the time, it didn't inspire you. I came in at version 1.4 so I am not sure how much it's change since 1.0 - 1.3 with 1.5. I just know it works for me and it's not for everyone... hell, no gear is.

I do miss the 4k at times, but only cause I didn't have to pull out the mpc controller, the laptop, and the keyboard controller when I wanted to mess around with some ideas.

Since U still have your hardware tho, and studios are even more reasonable now, it might be a bad leap. otherwise I would say stick with what alrdy works for and inspires you

Well if you ask me going from the 4k or any of the older MPCs to MPC Software is really good but going from the MPC Software to the 4k not so much.

If you have one of the Numark MPCs then going back and forth is smoother.

Any chance the next update brings real time stretching, or the new mixer, or multicore ? That would be awesome.
