MPC 2500 effects question

Hi all

I'm using the MPC 2500 SE running JJS OS XL 3.25.

I have an issue regarding applying an effect to any of the samples assigned to a pad.

I follow page 97 in the manual stricktly, but no effects are applied.

Any time I enter the FXSEND menu, I am unable to change the value, it's just displayed with a "--".

Even if I go to Program mode and turn up FX1 or 2, nothing happens.

What is it that I am not getting here?

In program menu, OUT tab and change there, where is TRK to ST (shift + F6 to choose all)
