transferring files from 60 to 3000?

Hi

Question: Does the Valixi 3.50 on the mpc3000 read mpc60's SND's and seq&song files from floppy?

I checked the akai manual, and all 60-files can be loaded and converted to match the 3000.
However, I'm wondering if Valixi does the same thing?
I can't find any information on the Valixi OS.
The website is down...
Has anyone got a manual or some spec-info for Valixi 3.50?

I think that Vailixi should handle MPC60 sample import in the same way as the Akai OS.

Tomorrow morning I'm exchanging the MPC60 with a 3000 Valixi 3.50. Need to know this, otherwise I'm up all night tracking beats

There shouldn't be no problem of transferring files as long the 3000 or Valixi recognizes it.

Yes I can load everything in the MPC3000. But there's a problem. You see, to save memory on the MPC60 I would save a sound to floppy, and load it back, and than change start and end points. So when doing this, you only use just 1 sound, but with different markers, tuning, etc....
Problem is, the MPC3000 doesn't work like this. Meaning: if a sound has a similar name, it will overwrite.
That's a pitty!

Cool machine, the MPC3000. An odd thing though: sometimes drums get panned hard left or hard right. It is happening with a short open hihat sample with a bit of attack. It isn't killing another sample. It just pans the other way around. If I remember correctly, I had a similar issue with the MPC4000.

I also had a high pitched sound coming from the MPC3000 headphones jack when I pressed PLAY. That seems to be gone now, though...

I need to replace the foil, because I can hardly see anything

I also need to clean some tact switches I think. STOP and F1-key are a bit unresponsive.
I tested the MPC this morning, but tbh: I couldn't care less. I wanted this machine for 10 years now! I finally have it. I total I paid 700 euro's for it, with a proper flightcase and some original funk floppy disk

Tried pressing down on the Display Contrast knob?

It doubles as a backlight on/off switch.

Yes, the light is dying. The MPC60 had the same problem, but worse. I need to shed some light with a new foil. For 30 euro's I can fix it!
I'm more concerned about the panning issue, and the tact switches. Don't wanna pay 100 dollars at MPC-stuff.com for some tiny cheap electronic parts...
I hope I can just clean them with special liquid of some sort

If you can't get them going with a little deoxit sprayed into the switch itself, you don't pay $100 for tacts, you buy them from an electronics parts supplier at <$1 each, somewhere like Mouser/Digikey/etc.

Ah I see. Well it should load the MPC 60 sounds but not sure about programs & sequencing etc. As for panning check mixer and see if it's panned.

Tact switches can be worn or dirty but it is not expensive to buy them to replace.

Same here been wanting the 3000 since 2008 and finally got it since last year as I was 2000/xl user. Should've bought the 3000 years ago but didn't have enough money that time.
