Wich pads do I need ?

Hello all,

Since a week ago Ive switched from 2KXL to 1K Black, I dont know really what the condition is of my pads (mpc looks very new), but compared to the pads of my XL they are really SHIT. Actually the sensitivity, I have to push them really hard (I dont know if this is normal in general for a 1K)

Ive searched around the forum and mpcstuff and there are several upgrades to choose from. I really dont know wich one I need. I just want a great nice sensitivity like the XL. Sensitivity is also checked and put to max (25).

What are the disadventages/benefits of thick pads ? I guess that I have the thick pads right now.. Maybe I need some more flat pads.. I really dont know where to start..

Someone experiences with the Corx Upgrade ?

First you need to find out what pad sensor you have in your 1000. If you wiggle one of the pads from side-to-side, do any of the pads adjacent to them move a little as well?

Alternatively open up the MPC and take a look - do you have 16 individual pads, or a single sheet of pads?

Ive checked it out, its a single sheet of pads..

That means you have the new-style sensor, so the options are to either get the extra thick pads which also increase sensitivity, or keep your existing pads and buy a set of pad corx to place underneath each pad.

I've been on my blue 1K with the old pads for a while now. Have to hit them like a kung-fu master even with full-level active. Right now, it's just the first four pads but I know pads 5-8 are next! Thinkin' that this Christmas I'll take what ever I get and sink it into my beloved 1K. Can't wait for the new pads (and maybe wood cheeks )

If you ordered corx separate see if you can change the order before it ships. On the 1000 Fat Pads the height of the corx is molded into the plastic as they were made after the standard square ones that used cork and felt adhesives.


So the sheet of Fat ones is all you need, I have them and they are fantastic. Mu 1000 went from the worst one pad wise to the arguably the best one between a 4k, XL, 2500 and 1000. At worst tying the XL which is almost universally praised for its great pad response.
