Thats right. I was speaking on the unlimited sounds you can create with it. Drums cannot be tweaked except for independent volume control. But its a sound up there with SP1200 and MPC60/3000 that is lo fi but bright at the sametime. I've recorded alot of sample worthy loops.

Like I said, I think cometh a VolcaTribe that will be the king that can tweak drums and synth sounds.

I just got my Volca beats. Used it lastnight without reading the manual. It is very intuitive. I plan on reading the sheet of paper that is the manual on my commute home.
These are great instruments, not pressure sensitive though. It came with batteries too. Loving the fact that I can walk around my house with it. The bass drum is not disappointing. I am very happy.

Thanks for sharing. I've only heard great things about the lows of the bass drum. mixed reviews on the PCM sounds tho. What did you think of the other sounds on it?

Too me all of the sounds are workable. I have made music with much worse. The sounds are good and easy to tweak. The clap is pcm it doesn't sound like the Roland TR clap. Which is fine because I have the TR clap in other gear.
The unit sounds great. When you max out the delay on the kick drum it does not extend super long. So you will have to use an external effect (I think) to make it go

I had my headphones on and was in heaven last night. I would not buy this if I already had another analog drum machine though. I tried making it sound like the TR909 and I was getting close, but I didn't really spend a lot of time so we'll see.

I got it to play "Set it off" and you can hear that the clap is not the TR808 clap. The clap is not loud either. I may make a video of the old school TR808 beats if one hasn't been made already.

I think it sounds good enough for what I need it to do.

I'm surprised nobody has made videos on the volca bass trying classic 303 lines—da funk, higher state of consciousness, everybody needs a 303, etc...

I know that's going to be one of the first things I try whenever I get mine...

Just ordered a volca bass. it's a christmas present from my parents. Christmas hasn't really been much of a surprise after I got into hardware music production.


edit: impressive, it's already shipped. so it'll be here by christmas.

Got my Beats today!!! Got my Bass two days ago and I'm liking the little machines. There was a high amount of noise on the Bass, but I'm hopeing that it was just that one. Someone messed up and sent me two. I get very surprised with what the Bass can do, I mainly use it with all the oscillators grouped. And today I connected them to my Ipad and used Gnome Midi sequencer to control them, it worked great. I would suggest getting them just for the price and portability. I can't wait for my Moog pedals

Minifooger Drive and Delay.

Cool, let us know how it goes, have been wondering how well they will interface with synth/sampler gear, in terms of signal level/impedance/etc., seeing that they are aimed at the guitar market.

Drive and Delay are the two I would start with as well.

yeah aimed at guitar but Moog being a synth famed company im certain they would work out well with synths
