midi help again

I know ive made a few posts on this but ive finally settled with a setup im gonna stick to so hopefully i can finally get this sorted.I followed a guys tutorial seen here viewtopic.php?t=76405 and ive got it working the mpc is following reasons sequencer but my problem is where it says TRACKING/RECORDING SEQUENCES TO REASON i cant record the notes into reasons sequencer.
can you help me so i can arrange my mpc sequences in reason im new to this way so anyone who has done it like this please help i have all the midi connections setup identical to the tutorial.He was using reason 3 im on reason 4 if u have a moment have a quick look through the link i dont know anywhere else to turn with this thank fam

Thanks for your reply its a 2000 classic its just broke today but im hoping to get a replacement soon im hoping i have understood what you said i have a midi hub plugged in and in the reason preferences i have the hub selected and midi clock set as this also.
I can record sound modules on mpc sequences thats all working fine the mpc is following reasons transport but in that post i linked to he says you can record midi notes by arming the track and pressing play on the mpc but it does not do this.on The second page of that post somebody commented and said..

"I tried this and it doesn't work. It looks like you can't use the same midi output for syncing as you used for controlling the midi in/hardware interface device. The operational manual even advises against this on page 58.
When I tried using output B of my MPC for syncing and for controlling the external control bus inputs, the track would be synced but no data would be recorded. If you're able to get it to work, maybe I'm doing something wrong. Let me know."

You should be able to send MIDI note on/offs from a sequencer track, on playback, or when just hitting the pads while the sequencer is stopped.

Are you setting your MPC sequencer track MIDI output channel/port to the correct port, the one connected to the computer MIDI interface?

yes i think there on the right channels i usually keep them say track 1 1b track 2 2b i never jumble them up i always keep them on the right tracks ive just sent away for some parts on mpc stuff.com so i cant really check things at the minute till i get it fixed but really all i wanted to do was track out in reason i know reason 4 doesn't record audio so when i came across that post i thought it was ideal.

I was wanting to sequence on the mpc and when i needed to record into reason while the mpc sequencer was linked to the reason transport and arrange my song and use automation lanes i dont really want to use my mpc as a controller for reason i just want to play the modules from reason with my keyboard that is plugged into the mpc.

I just like the hardware feel when i get it fixed can i get back to you about it? if i cant find a fix i will use it like this for automation and stuff and record into a daw the more i think about it im starting to think its not worth doing it like this have you got any ideas for a better way?thanks
