Distortion Problem

Hello

Here's the Problem:

I can use the the MPC Ren for about 5 minutes (no delays or distortion) then all the sounds slowly become more and more distorted.

Every time this happens, I have to switch the Sample Rate back and forth from 44.1 to 48. Then the distortion will go away for a few minutes then come back, having me to switch the sample rate again.

I don't have a soundcard for my PC. I'm running on the stock motherboard's soundcard which I'm not sure if it matters or not...

Any help will be great thank you

Similar sounding problem here a couple of days ago...

Turned out to be caused by a USB extension cable being used with the Renaissance.


Is your Renaissance connected directly to a computer USB port?

If so, maybe try a different port and a different USB cable, with anything not being used disconnected from the computer.

If not, try connecting it directly to it's own USB port, and a different cable, removing other USB devices.

Why not use the Ren's soundcard instead? If you have to use the computer soundcard, you should try the ASIO4ALL driver. It's free!

Missed that...yes, why are you using the inbuilt computer audio, rather than the Renaissance for your audio I/O?

Yea, sorry, it is set to the ASIO driver.. I just thought I needed a soundcard for the computer (I'm new to the tech stuff).
I also tried switching to different usb ports. After awhile the sounds still become distorted.

This is a still ongoing problem.

Has anyone with the same problem been able to fix it? Or at least going through the same thing?

Hey As the others have suggested the ren has a built in interface... (soundcard) You should have better results using that as sound output than the built in soundcard on the motherboard..
So in the mpc sof preferences choose the mpc ren and the input and output driver...


Other things that always **** with sound are antivirus and malware protection sftware... Some wifi chipsets mess with sound aswell.. It's a trial and error game with windows computers because so many people ave different shit on there computers.....

Audio software samplers/sequencers are very time critical so anything else that fights for time critical process will interrupt the audio ..

it could be your mpc, it might be your computer specs, it might be a bad outlet plugged into the wall, it could be a lot of things. For me when that happened usually had to restart my audio interface or computer.

and yes i'm using the stock soundcard that comes with the ren.
