Need Help MPC 2000XL, Triton 61 key, Fantom Rack Motif Rack

I can't seem to figure out how to connect these items to the MPC. I want to use the MPC as my sequencer. I have all of the audio stuff figured out I just really could use some help with the midi stuff. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

Midi out of your MPC A to Midi in on your Triton. MIDI out of your Triton to IN on your MPC #1. MIDI out of your MPC B to MIDI in on your first module. MIDI out or thru on the first module to MIDI in on the second module(DAISY CHAIN METHOD). From the MPC you can control the Triton sounds on A 1-16 and the sound modules on the B chanels but you have to turn certain channels off or on depending on which one you are you using so that you won't have the modules sounds on the same channels.

I have a triton 61 key le and a mpc2000 (non xl). I think I have it hooked up together correct but I'm not positive. Can you please advise me on the correct way to hook up the two and the correct steps to operate the two together. If you could help me out I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

all good dsmith I got it working with my triton yesterday so I think I can explain.

1. MPC Midi Out A to Midi In on the Triton
MPC Midi In to Midi Out on the triton

2. on the Triton Press the Global Button
then press the Menu button
on the screen press the midi button
also on the screen uncheck the local control box

3. go into sequence mode on your triton this is were you can pick your sounds
on the MPC midi device 1A coresponds with your triton sequence tracks in other words

Tirton sequencer track 1 is device 1A
Triton sequencer track 2 is device 2A etc....

I have all my midi gear hooked up now But I can't figure out how to turn off certain parts on my module. I would like parts 1-8 on my motif to be on and the parts 9-16 on my fantom rack to be on. and all parts on these two machines to be off. If you have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated

Another dumb question, Midi does not carry audio so where or how would it transfer the audio. Triton audio outs to ? on the mpc? Also what do you have to do on the MPC to, I guess turn on the midi? I have it hooked up the way you described but nothing is really happening. Any help is really appreciated, thanks again.

your audio outs needs to go to a mixer think of them completly diferent from midi cables. The audio and Midi cables have nothing to do with each other.

You will proabaly need some sort of a mixer if you don't have one.

1. Audio Out left and right of the MPC into audio in on any open channel of your mixer.

2. audio out left and right of the Triton into audio in on any open channel of the mixer.

(To do these 2 connections you will need dual 1/4" cables for each machine)

3. Take the main out put of the mixer and connect it to your speakers.

Now you should have a volume control for your MPC and Your Triton and a seperate volume control for your main mix.

remeber audio and midi have nothing to do with each other so if your audio outs are ot connected to anything you will never hear anything.
