HUGE sample library - trying to make new kits for the new 2kxl!!! (so i <3 with this machine)

I NEED to QUICKLY - (on my laptop, searching through countless folders of countless hits and samples) press the down arrow key - which will automatically trigger the sample to play - and keep doing this - over and over - very QUICKLY!!!! (Im just trying to audition all these samples and choose what to load)

Not sure if this is coming through, however... did i mention QUICKLY!!!!

I tried media player... it takes forever to begin to play the next sample... tried soundforge ... it didn't work as well as planned. I believe there was a bit of lag time.
I used to have an app for my mac... SNAPPER that worked great!!! I cant seem to find a great small app, like snapper for PC that allows me to tear through THOUSANDS of samples with almost no wait. I need it to be like immediate. anyone can suggest something please?

ALright! THankS!

i found this myself while digging deeper. It's surprising how difficult it was to find something similar to Snapper. I do wish they had that for Windows. Anyway i found this to do the one key thing i really needed was to play em Quick! and that seemed to be this guy so far.

Seems to be buggy, but works well with the MPC loader saver app i got running. You can drag from the app and drop right to a pad on whatever this MPC loader app is and save and build kits from there. I'll see if these others are better. Have you guys tried this Breezer app? how do you feel it measures up if you already know ... love a cranny of knowledge :-D

OK.. I should have made this clear from the start... My bad...
I need for PC ... NOT mac.

thats why i was trying to find something similar to Snapper... cause it does not work on Windows. Neither does that Ice Audio thing. Looked DAMN cool though!!! MAN! Mac ONLY... wha wha....

You can change the Folder Options in Windows Explorer to 'Single-click to open an item (point to select)', which will auto open and play it in the default editor when clicked on to select it, still doesn't do it with selection by arrow key though. And it then applies to all files, which is annoying.

Foobar sounds about right! lol!
man is this 2kxl picky about what files it see's. I'm trying to batch convert 24bit files in SOundForgre and export them to 16bit wav mono.
THe conversion goes well. I can put them in Program on that 2k application for windows. THRow them to zip, load the programs, but some/a lot of the sounds don't load correctly.

*however i found the files i converted on the disc, so the 2kxl can see the files. Its something to do with the way this 2kxl program saves the programs you set up. Good news is, you can find the files on the disk and just load and save them to the pads and then rewrite the program. Reboot and now it does load the programs correctly! Man i forgot about all this with the 4k!*

Overall the Revel Breezer to be quite good for my purpose so far. Its this 2kxl app that seems to be struggling.
Is there a better 2kxl application that lets you create programs?

Is it something to do with filename length, might need to be 8.3, or certain characters used in the filename, that the MPC doesn't like?

But if the MPC can load those same samples directly, then maybe not.

Ahh!!! yeah! I think your right! I forgot about that as well!!! THanks for the reminder!

Also i believe someone was telling me how to set up autosample on media player earlier. Yes i did that, however it takes a long time of silence before each .wav actually triggers. there's no way you could digest library's with that lag time. I'll try this foobar thing maybe next.

thanks again guys!

oh and when you save your programs... do you prefer "sound" or ".wav" when saving programs?
