Playing Chords on MPC Element

Hi,

I've been reading this forum for a while now and finally decided to post something myself.
Is there a way to play chords on the mpc Element maybe through 16-level?
My pads are cutting each other out no matter what when I try playing chords.
I know it works on the 2000 using Auto Chromatic Assignment, but is there an option for it in essentials? Setting Master and Pad Play Mode to poly isn't working.

I've recently bought JFilts Essential Hip Hop Chord book so i'd be really glad if you could answer.

Check that the pads are not set to the same mute group. Is this a DRUM or KEYGROUP program?

I just needed to switch off the mute group under programm edit but i still can't get it to record more than one note. it's a drum program.

Under PROG EDIT select the MASTER tab and make sure, it's set to POLY (not MONO).

Already did that. I also set the Pad Play to Poly.
I can play chords but when i hit record it only records one note of the chord.
Any ideas?

I'm using the essential version of the mpc software if that helps.

I don't know that there are enough users on here that use elements. Have you posted to the akai community?

i m pretty sure 16 level tune is only mono since its beginnig...

Totally didn't read that: 16 LEVEL is mono play only. To circumvent this, you could assign the sample to a keygroup programme (if the Element supports this) or assign it manually to different drum pads and detune them in the PROG EDIT section, pad by pad.

OP - could you confirm whether you are doing this with a DRUM program specifically in 16 LEVELs, or just in 'standard' mode?

I'm using essentials as an instance in logic and under SEQUENCE i've got TYPE set to Drum. I'm using a sample of my piano in 16-levels.

Or use an old trick :

sample a chord and use it in 16tune mode
