NOTE: THIS IS JUST A CONCEPT! MY FEATURES DONT HAVE TO BE THE FINAL SPEC. FEEL FREE TO ADD YOUR CHOICES .

All these features would be mapped to the qlinks in the sampling screen(see pic)
1. expand the modeling technology to included sample characteristics {Vintage mode} (ex.asr 10 ,Sp1200,Mpc 60,Mpc 3000,s950)
2.give greater control to the user by offering adjustable sample depth and rate
3.include a sample input volume control for mixing incoming sounds(from inputs) for blending
4.add efx so users can apply efx to incoming samples(NOTE:the efx are user selectable either Akai or your favorite Vst plugin)
5.include a pre sample option to be measured in the milli sec.
6.allow the option of sampling either mono or stereo (qlinks)
7.bring back auto normalize (for those low samples)
8. add a vinyl denoiser or dehummer
Note:A volume control in the sample browser
Note:Volume knob for blending sounds from sound card/Ren input

On the left you have an example of how features would be assigned to qlinks .On the right Theres a knob in the sample browser to adjust volume of your samples while browsing.

Here I added a live pitch shift knob ( ok I'm stretching here lol)

I'm no photoshop expert(in fact this was my 1st time using it) and I will agree some of my features are a little ambitious(the modeling knob to select between sample characteristics and the denoiser sample bit). Every thing else was on previous mpcs. I think the procedure would be great for the creation process.I already own the 4000.the Ren should have similar if not all the best features of previous mpcs.imho

I didn't vote either choice, mainly because even though I think your idea is very rough and don't agree with every single aspect, I like where you are going with it, put the qlinks to use, make the workflow much more intuitive. They need to do stuff like this x 100 , but good idea. There's all kinds of places in the software where they can add useful features to unused qlinks, buttons, pads, etc..

If akai hired some beat makers from these forums to help the dev team shzit would be poppin off nicely.
