Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

I'm finally having some time to work on my new Ren. I've installed the 3 discs and followed the instructions carefully. I can see the Plug ins but I can't seem to access them/preview them at all. Also, under the Type of instrument in the main layout, I don't see 'MPC'. I only see Drum, Midi, Plugin, Keygroup. The Plug-in type has nothing in there. Am I just overlooking something simple?

Thanks.

If you have updated MPC Software to version 1.3, 1.4, or 1.5, you also then have to run the Expansion Pack updaters that were included in the MPC Software update download.

This updates the Expansion Pack plugins for use in the 64 bit default operating mode of MPC Software from 1.3 onwards.

The Expansion Packs are plugins, you choose Plugin as the Track Type, there is no 'MPC' Track Type. Drum and Keygroup are the 2 Track Types that utilise the internal MPC sample engine, MIDI is for sending MIDI out to external MIDI devices.

After selecting Plugin as the Track Type, you click where it says PLUGIN <none>, and choose the Expansion Pack plugin that you want to use from the dropdown list, using the + symbol to expand that list.

Thanks for the response, Simon. I purchased the unit and it came with the 1.0 Version of the MPC software. I ran the update to 1.5.

I can't seem to find a way to run the Expansion Pack updates.. is there a link to find them through the Akai site?

Thanks.

The file that you downloaded which contains the MPC Software 1.5 update, also includes separate version 1.3 update installers for each of the Expansion Packs, you need to run those.

Check the Update-MPC-v1.5 update file that you already have, or download it again.
