is there a way to have the 8outs all going at once and recording 8 separate tracks into PT LE(at the same time)? any interface/mixer that will do this(not the 002)?

if not, do you think it's better to record each track separately from the 8outs or the stereo outputs, or does it even matter if I'm opting to use this method?

If you have just an mbox, then you cannot record onto 8 tracks simultaniously.

You need to spend a bit of cash and get something that will allow you to record into your comp. 8 at a time.

You could buy a mixer with two auxilliaries, then do all your programming and "mixing" on the desk, before recording the stereo output into the mbox.

You could get an analogue to digital converter to take 8 tracks of audio into your mbox seperately, but generally they use ADAT connections, and (please correct me if I am wrong) the mbox does not have an ADAT input.

It seems to me that the only way of doing what you want to do is to get another interface (002 if you wanna stay protools), or just continue to track a track at a time.

you can only record 2 tracks at a time with the MBox. Bottom line.

Hey,

Just do what im going to do.. Buy a 001 - they go for approx $500 US on Ebay and have 8 line inputs and 8 outputs, SPDIF i/o and Midi i/o.. hmmm handy.

Its almost like this thing was built for an MPC, and now they dont make em no more they are about the same price as a new Mbox.

or for 399 get a delta 1010 and record into nuendo.
