Estimated value? i need opinions guys

I'm about to sell my mpc60II fully loaded with O.S. 3.10, scsi, max mem, an internal 9gb ssd from JD, and an external CF Card reader from JD. I haven't seen a package like this on Ebay.. seems like i could get at Least $1000-1200. Thoughts?

IMO the vintage MPC market is down and has been for some time. Im assuming its because of the release of the Ren, studio, and maschine users. Thats not to say it will stay down.

Im not saying you cant get what you are asking, but 60 MK1's fully loaded with max ram and scsi arent even selling for over $1000. At least in the US. I dont know what market you are in but, from what I understand the UK, Europe, and Australia pay some decent prices for 60s and 3000s. More than they are pulling in the US at least.

Also Thats a 60II, which is not exactly the prettiest MPC of all time.
Give it a try and see what happens but dont be disappointed if you dont get what you think someone should pay.

i've noticed that prices are down with these but, couldn't hurt to try. Definitely not looking to sell for pennies as It isn't a desperate situation or anything lol trying to clear some space. Thanks for the input

No harm trying to sell at a high price, there's one born every minute. I saw a second hand MPC4000 with no upgrades sell for £900 GBP on Ebay a few weeks ago. Going price is typically £400-£500. But if someone is desperate they'll cough up the money to get what they want.

^^^^ that's true too.. I'm guilty of that. lol The only thing holding me back is my collection itself. I have the 60, sp1200, s950, s900,eps16... Of course i don't use all of that i just enjoy seeing them all together

Yep, the best bet is to list with "Buy it Now" ONLY for $11-1200. Somebody who knows about the headache and cost of trying to piece all that together and is in need of one will jump on it especially if its looking and working good.

I second that. It is quite some headache to put all that together

Buy it now, with best offer.

Then you might get an offer that interests you, while waiting to see if someone takes it at your Buy it now price.

A lot of the >$1000 MPC60s seem to sit on eBay unsold for a long time, a lot seem to sell in the $600-700 range.

Intersting. I think its worth a lot more especially if it is in good condition. its an amazing machine.

But afterall its all supply to demand. Do you think the prices will go higher again?

Yes, have a look at completed listings, see what they have actually been selling for, not what people are asking for them.

Those above $1000 generally seem to sit there for a long time unsold.

I havent been wathching the listings as much as i used to when i was shopping for one. Maybe its a good time to buy, a few went for great prices.

This is the best way to go about it. Dont forget ebay and and paypal fees ad up to 13% or so. If you do sell for $1000 thru ebay you can knock $100 right off the top of your earnings.

If someone submits an offer, you can try and get the buyer to buy the item off the books.
negotiate terms and do everything thru paypal. That way you at least avoid the 10% ebay fee.

I think you are exactly right. Adam Smith's invisible hand theory will definitely come into play at some point. As machines do not sell and more sellers create a surplus of gear, sellers will cut their prices to make a sale.

According to this theory, prices will only come up if there is a shortage and there is a higher demand.

With that being said, I dont necessarily feel theres a surplus. Theres just not the demand for this older gear at this time
