is it possible for incompatible sounds to cause it to crash? I'll try the RAM thing...it is used so maybe its dusty or something, IDK...dont want to screw anything up

Sigh....took out RAM worked for awhile then froze up like its been doing. I swear its got to be this card drive. Every time I want to save or take too long turning the dial knob to load a sound, suddenly the blinking green light on the drive stays on and it freezes. :Sigh:

Going to be a little hard to troubleshoot without something you can replace the reader with, such as another card reader or floppy drive.

yea, maybe i'll give the addonics cf drive a whirl. Failure IS NOT AN OPTION after all the money i threw into this thing

Well if anyone wondered, mpcstuff sent me another multicard drive and I ordered the addonics cf drive as well just in case, but after installing the new mpcstuff drive all systems were a go!

I dont have the slightest idea why the original drive kept crashing. I saw nothing damaged or missing on it. On close inspection the only difference I could tell is that the circuit board of it was slightly different in layout than the new one I recieved...for what that's worth.

:smoker: Nothing like having you equipment working properly

Anyone able to find a hot swappable card reader? They seem to be so scarce at the moment. No one has any and if you find one it's like $300!!! WTF?!

Not that the IDE only reader is bad, but would be cool to find a ATAPI reader. I'll go the Addonics route if I can't find one.

Just don't understand why they are so hard to find.

Would be cool to have a list of all readers (internal / external ) and what units (MPC 2000/xl, 3000, etc..) they work with.

I'm gonna have to start searching computer surplus I think.

Anyone ever see this:

Midicase guy is a long time member here, most of us have seen that page bfore.

These card readers are way past their 15 minutes of fame.

Thank you, I tried them. Out of Stock. :(

What kinds **** up is that you can find the USB version from all sort of manufactures for like $10.

I've seen this card that converts SATA to IDE, seems like that might work if you were to use a SATA drive which are way easier to find.

Did you email them to ask?

I use a Stratos Technology SCSI-SATA bridge, and a Delock 91690 SATA-CF reader, in an MPC3000.

Expensive though, $150 for bridge, $35 for reader.

Have not tried any cheaper SCSI-SATA bridges.
