- list editor : provides a GUI and LCD-based event editing interfacefor fine tuning event lists. Click the GUI list toolbar icon to switch between grid or list view. SHIFT-press STEP SEQ to enter the LCD list editor.
- Note lenght quantize : adjusts the position of the note ends, or make notes play legato.
- New editor scrolling behaviour : toolbar buttons toggles between scroll modes : Off, Page, Scroll.
- Added MIDI control layouts for pad chromatic scale layout/

+ bugfixes and stability enhancements

Note length quantize is most welcome!!

Wow, thats pretty weak. Step edit, length quantize, and chromatic midi? Looks like mines going to keep gathering dust...
No sampler improvements,
No Mixer improvements,
No FX plugin automation

How AKAI once a giant, an inovator, fell into a really bad Crack smoking binge and never recovered.

See the Ren isn't all bad, kids will learn what not to do, they will benefit from it's failure.

I can see NAMM now... Dan - "Okay see how I hold this note as long as I want?...Then... ala SHAZAM! Did you see that!!!?!!? Did you see that!!!?!! The end of the note is RIGHT ON THE GRIIIIIIIIDDD!!!!!!" Then he busts out a sweet magic card trick to sweeten the deal. " Is this your card?...no? Is this your card? ...no?" and so on.

Don't forget the mention of the new MPC5000 OS!

I've always liked the good old list editing.

Anyone messed around with that new step edit feature?

That is something that electronic music producers are going to find very useful.

To have every note in every sequence controlled to that micro level, including, note length, fx sends, filter values, tuning, pan, etc will be of a great benefit to the Ren.

Will continue investigating here to see what difference the other improvements make.

Well, there are good things and bad things with this update...

i just tried the list editor, it's actually looking good and helpful. also the note quantize is something important. and the stability and enhancements is a good thing for all since some people still have troubles running the soft, hopefully it will help them.

now for the bad.... well most of us are dying for a global mixer, reat time stretching, multicore...and it will always be a disappointment to see a new release neglecting those.

Hopefully they hold those kind of announcements for NAMM...
