While I'm sure that the new features are great and very useful, they are just adding more ways to do the same thing. What about things that there is no way to do and not even a way to create a work around for, things like FX Plugin Automation?

How long have MPCs had that for, 12 years? :hmmm: :Sigh:

And it's great to have it in the Ren finally, isn't it????

Just responding to the video, where the guy is hyped over 960 ppqn.

There is other way more important basic MPC features that are missing compared to 960 ppqn.

It's one step closer to making even better music. Appreciate the update for what it is. I think everyone would be singing a different song if we had no updates in a while.

Akai: Damned if you do; damned if you don't. Keep pushing.

That's what your DAW is for...

.... Or it could be a valid part of the creative process??? The "that's what a daw is for" excuse might work for people wanting to record vocals into their mpc but lets be real .. These days.. Fx automation is something the ren should have ! Can't automate a programs parameters either , just individual pads

Hurts workflow and is a detriment to the creative process .. In my opinion, of course

Full fx automation is a needed feature, make no doubt about that!

Until it's implemented I will make do with what I have and get on with making music.

We would be singing a different song if Akai had implemented most of the still awaited features in the initial software release or earlier updates. The last 2 or 3 updates should have only be about bug fixes or adding less important features.

I disagree somewhat.

In my own opinion, creative/work flow doesn't end with the Ren sequence. Moving your sequence into your DAW for FX and automation doesn't "threaten" your creative process.

But, to your point: Your creative flow is important to you. Not judging anyone that wants FX automation in their MPC; but, its out there already.

Thanks for feedback.

Right, right! But, something is keeping us hanging around! Akai has a development plan, I'm sure. Do we like the suspense or are you really supporting Akai to continue to give us what we want?

Go make more good music while you wait, brother.

The Ren has always recorded and nudged in 960 PPQ. Nothing has changed in that aspect. The point is that now you can also nudge in 96 PPQ. :Sigh:

I see that at least Akai has gotten at least some type of handle on the deployment process. They had enough sense to have SFS make a vid and release it on schedule to answer questions about the new features. Release notes on release day. There may be hope for them yet...

Now, the question is did they break anything that worked prior to 1.6???

Any updates and new features are a step in the right direction so I'm not gonna piss on their parade.

The new features look good! That Step Edit is an easy yet powerful tool. Function definitely trumped form.

Color me impressed... But they can STILL do better...

We don't want it out there, we want it in here.
