Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

Hello!

My new MPC Studio does not seem to communicate with the MPC software - I have installed the drivers ok, when I plug in the studio it flashes different colours but when I open the MPC software and try to unlock it it says that I haven't plugged in the MPC hardware, which I need to do to unlock it.

Any suggestions?

I am running windows vista - the Akai website says to use windows 7 but I have read that lots of people have got it to work on Vista

Any help would be most appreciated - I'm gutted I can;t use it yet as I didn't realise you needed a computer to make this work (I thought that was MPDs)

Thank you!

Does it show MPC on the MPC Studio screen when you plug it in and power it up, or are the bottom pads lit up?

Did you notice if it tried to update the MPC Studio firmware? This was problematic with the MPC Software 1.5 update and matching firmware update, and was often having problems and not updating the MPC Studio firmware correctly.

No idea about Vista compatibility, and whether the earlier versions of MPC Software work better with Vista than the later versions, or not.

Thanks for your reply!

Yeah it shows MPC on the screen of the MPC studio and all of the pads light up, I think it is a driver issue and I'm guessing that it is because I'm trying to run it on Vista. Therefore I think it's about time I updated my computer haha

Thanks again man

Thanks for the suggestion man I'll give it a try. Not even tried installing the expansions yet as couldn;t get anything else to work in the first place!

Are you running vista as well then?!

When I go to the device manager in Control Panel it tells me that there is a problem with the driver, no matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall it, so Not sure how it will work with your suggestion but I;ll definitely try it out anyway dude
