Im so tired of my self right now. Just updated it the wrong way, first i installed the 809, wub, bank, and the noice. Now the install file wont open..

Anyone got an idea of that i can do now?

What computer OS are you running?

Wouldn't have thought installing the expansions first would affect software installation?

It says the file wont open and that i might check if its compatible with my OS
and i have 10.6.8... I have an imac

That is a problem with 10.6.8, it seems that 1.6 does not work with 10.6.8, it is not to do with loading the expansions first.

10.6.8 no longer supported, Akai forgot to mention it.

Stay on 1.5 or upgrade your Mac to 10.7 or greater (might want to avoid Mavericks for the moment as that's not officially supported either).

While the installation program does not work with 10.6.8, that does not mean someone couldn't come up with a way to manually install the files in the same places as the installation program puts them, and then maybe get it to work.

This 1.6 update was not the most robust and it did not address a lot of the functions it really needed to add. This tells me they are planning a 2.0 update which will require a purchase for about $200. They know what features we want and I suspect the artist working with Akai wants a lot of these same features, as well. It appears to me with the cost of development and the now reduced price. Akai has no choice, but to put all the big changes requested into a pack for an additional cost.


This is my option, of course, they underwhelmed everyone and our beta Renaissance hardware purchase will now make the way for a successor. I cannot wait to see what NAMM has in store for us.

That vid has nothing to do with Akai, it's an independent video from a beta tester. I'm sure Akai will put something out sooner or later...

You are correct. I would have figured that SFS is a beta tester as well so he probably had the vid done and ready to deploy once Akai gave him the greenlight. Akai probably still had to sign off on it prior to release.

Nope, once the software goes live it's not their concern, it's open season. It's no different to anybody doing a review of it - no one needs approval to talk about features of a publicly released application.

As with any standard NDA, as long as a beta tester isn't publicly speaking about confidential stuff, he can do as he pleases.

Well.. if they are planning a big 2.0 update and most likely with a new controller.. IMO that won't be ready until probably summer time, so what happens to the Renaissance in the meantime, will Akai just leave it at 1.6 and have people wait a while for the major upgrade.. or will they give customers partially what they have been asking for all this time and put out 1.7 or 1.8 update

Could be an MPC Software update, with the teaser image being unrelated hardware, maybe an expanded MPX.
