this is gettin old though. So ur sayin that hip hop is a pure black thing and no outside influence is credited or respected for contributing to it? So basketball or football is a white thing while 80% of the players are black? that means they aint real? What ever happened to equality and progression? I didnt know we went backwards 40 years. To put labels on something that is now a global thing that is bigger then the south bronx as who is realer is pretty homo. Listen to how ignorant and how repressed u soundin. One nation under a groove, not step off whitey u aint allowed. Hip hop unified mad diff races. It got cats from black, latino, white, asian and many more, together makin music and sharing similir interests. Im not gonna define hip hop cause hip hop means diff things to diff people. Im not gonna say who right and wrong cause its something that i dont care about. Imma make my beats and do my thing and if that is real hip hop then so be it. I dont got a rulebook or manual on how to be hiphop. i just do my thing and thats that. U are just comin off as some hatin ass ignorant crab ass cat who pretty much cited that one article this whole post. Face it homie its 2004 not 1980. just get in where u fit in. and whats with the soundclick hating? I dont get deals off it and i aint tryin to network with it. I just use it so when i meet someone i can show them a little something. Im not worried bout cashin in off beats yet so i dont worry bout if im not "hustilin proper" by some moron who aint got no deal or no clout in the biz.

what do you think is the solution, delnegro? Do you think people with light colored skin should just stay out of hiphop just because they weren't there when it was invented? maybe Asian people shouldn't be classical musicians because it's a European artform and they can't possibly understand it the same way as a European. Please. Yo-Yo Ma is one of the greatest cellists in the world but he's not denegrated by europeans as being an outsider or capitalizing on another culture's artform. Why does someone have to be there at the beginning in order to comprehend it and take part in something? Why should someones race or ethnic background dictate what path he or she takes? You need to get out more and widen your circle of friends to include people of many culture and backgrounds, including "wonderbread white people" y'dig? You might be surprised to find that not only "black" people have some soul and not only "white" people are prejudiced or uptight or any other stereotype you might be blinded by.

I dont know how y'all make the corelation that hiphop being a black artform that whites cant be involved. No one said that. The article didnt say that. Do you white boys have so much of a sense of entitlement that you cant simply say you indulge in something thats black culture?!! I really dont understand whats the big deal.

By delnegro Sat Dec 11, 2004 2:06 pm
I see the only one who actually read the article and can understand is Dove. All the explainations you guys made can be refuted in the article. The basketball or sports analogy, this ALWAYS come up when discussing hiphop being a black artform with white boys. It's apples and oranges y'all need to give that one up..PLEASE! WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR Y'ALL TO SIMPLY SAY YOU TAKE PART IN A BLACK ARTFORM?!! WHY?!! It can mean whatever to you but that doesnt change it from being a black artform. Like I said in previous posts no one said you cant be involved or contribute. But that doesnt change what it is...

Sorry i didnt read the whole thing casue i got shit to do not argue with some rasict on the interent.

Whatever man you came at me greasy calling me fag. I see the truth hurts you delusional fools. Y'all keep trying to twist sh1t. Not once did I say you have to be black or in NYC to indulge in hiphop. I'm racist cause I KNOW hiphop is a black artform?! I'm racist cause I said cant no white boy from Idaho or Iowa tell me sh1t about hiphop?! It's the truth bottomline. I'm sorry it hurts you all to know that hiphop is a black artform. I dont see why it does but it just something that can't be refuted. You can lie to yourselves if you want but that doesnt change anything..it is what it is...
