How do you feel after switching? Whats the pros and cons of each? Hows that new maschine software/hardware compare to the Ren at the moment? I'm thinking of maybe, switching, my patience is running out on my Ren, updates are weak as hell and not helping it.

Had the chance today to use a Maschine studio today..

Using the new software..

I had a basic run down with it..
This is what impresses me..

1 The drum synths.. I love sampling my drums but the engines for layering are really good.. quite basic in terms of what you can control but, it's what i like about it, just enough params to tweek to get what you want..

2 Unlimited groups.. Now you Arn't restricted to 2 8 groups.. And switching between banks quickly is easily done by holding shift.(ie a1 b1 c1 d1 holding shift pressing b changes to a2 b2 c2 d2 etc) But nothing really new/better than compared to mpc software pgms/groups.

3 The mixer view and metering per channel/sound.And the led meter section aswell.. Obvisouly a plus over the rens sequenced linked track mixer..

4. Sidechain... It's available in any vst plugin that supports sidechaining to(but didn't try it) The maschine filter maximiser compressor and gate all have sidechain.. Input. the downside is that only one pad can send to a side chain But you get around this by making a sound or pad a sidechain bus..

5. The screens on the maschine studio are quite nice and fancy.. Pin resolution and pretty good layout of mixer, arange or scene view and step editing / event editing...

I'm still used to the older maschine way, and was fumbling around the new system.. It's still not a clear breaker for me to complety dismiss the mpc software.. As i really prefer working with mpcs sequences than maschines scenes.. Based on the fact that when i duplicate a scene, i want all patterns to be duplicated aswell.. becuase you forget sometimes to duplicate the pattern to edit.. Which changes previous scenes with the same pattern..

I didn't get to actually sample and trim/chop stuff..

Waiting on this 1.6 update...

Hold duplicate+scene and tick the +pat button. This will make new patterns for duplicated scenes instead of alias copies.
