Hello folks,

So i'm new to this Controller/Soundcard thing. I'm running OSX 10.9.1.. When i use try using the Stereo outs of the REN. i hear nothing.. it only works when i use the Mac's internal output. is it something I did wrong or a driver issue? On my preferences i have it OUTPUTing to MPC REN. and INPUTING to MPC REN. I have my REN's stereo outs going to my mixer which is plugged to my KRKs. any help will be thankful.

Are you talking about general computer sounds coming out of the Renaissance?

I think that MPC Software itself should still work, maybe?

The Renaissance audio interface drivers are not fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks), you have to wait for an MPC Software update for it to work properly.

yes. software is running perfect. I had no crashes or anything. but i can't get no sound from the stereo outs of the MPC. I'm talking about software samples, anything. Ive also noticed that i don't have the option to pick ASIO as an output or input in preferences. it just says MPC REN and the MBP's input or output. i don't believe the driver is visible.

Are you talking about setting it from the MPC Software Audio Preferences, or the Mac Sound Control Panel?

Not sure, some users report that it works OK in Mavericks from within MPC Software, but does not work for more general Mac sounds and applications that use the Mac Sound Control Panel settings.

Hopefully one of those users will be able to help you, and let you know how it looks in their MPC Software Audio Preferences.

i am running mavericks. haven't had any issues on my end. I'm running 1.5 though.

I do have to ask some really basic questions though in order to try to help (please don't be insulted lol)

1.) Do you have cables plugged into the stereo outs going to a mixer or monitors? (make sure the issue isn't on that end, such as your mixer)
2.) Is the hardware volume pot turned up?
3.) can you hear anything out of the headphone jacks?
4.) If you select built-in output in preferences, do you get sound out of your computer speakers?
5.) Does your mpc appear to be responding properly? (the MPC logo goes away on the LCD and the standard main screen appears)

Let me know whats up

2b.) Is the Direct Mon knob turned all the way to the Comp side?

I was running software 1.6 with osx10.9 Mavericks and the mpc ren output no longer worked so I had to downgrade back down to OSX 10.7 (which wasn't easy) in order to use MPC software 1.6 update. I have heard some people saying that they are running 1.6 with Mac osx10.9 with no problems.... Ok well how??

1. i have them plugged into the stereo out into my mixer. mixer channel works fines with all my other stuff/
2. yes the volume is up.
3. can't hear nothing from headphone jack as well.
4. i hear the sound fine from the output speakers
5. Yes. the MPC reacts/responds perfectly minus this audio issue.

I do know of some "go arounds".. Sound flower, or just using a different sound card. But with the price of this unit i should be able to use as intended. i should of just got the Studio. But I'll be patient for now since i just got it and keep hopes that AKAI won't let us down.

yeah i thought of doing that, but I'm not sure if its worth that headache. for now i'll just wait until 1.7 to fix this issue and just work around the issue.

You could try uninstalling MPC Software 1.6, along with the drivers, if that is what you are running, and give 1.5 a go.
