So now my Maschine is collecting dust..

So I finally got an Mp. First one and I love it. MPC 2500. Love it so much thinking of getting a second one for in case this one breaks down later down the road. Really didn't want anther controller essentially with the Renaissance. Glad I took the plunge. And the as for the Maschine, it's just been sitting ever since I got the MP. Just thought I'd share that.

Good choice. You'll get a lot of cool features with the JJ OS installed. It's well worth the investment.

lol same here man, got sick of load times on the USB controllers so I bought a 1K ... I think my Maschine will end up on Craigslist soon ... why carry around a controller and a laptop when you can just carry an MPC ... plus I hate having my laptop out and unattended or around people drinking always wanting to "play" with my Maschine

If you have Maschine AND an MPC you can get clever with your MIDI routing and get the two perfectly in-sync. I had a TON of fun with my MPC 1K + Maschine, running in parallel with program-change messages keeping the pattern changing on point! So much fun, unfortunately I do not have my Maschine anymore. Oh, well!

I've never used or seen maschine in person, please explain to me about "load times on the USB controllers", I'd like to know.

Precisely the reason why Maschine and MPC Ren are not really appealing to me. But laptop + Maschine controller combo might be almost as portable as MPC-1000.

Interesting, I guess Maschine is more likely to be "played" with bystanders than MPCs, because Maschine controller is bright and colorful, and less intimidating looking than MPC...

I know and I don't get the cats that do this for a show. They wanna have all these plug-ins at their disposal when the crowd doesn't care what you play. There's deejays right now that just go to gigs with a usb stick and a controller and all the music is played off the stick while he pretends to freak the controller thats not even plugged in but the crowd still goes "wow".
