So... it's 1.5 already. are you happy with ren?

I'm sticking to my MPC4000... it works. never crashes. I'm fast on it. Works well with my hardware synths, and I have no problems recording in riffs from software synths into it.... I think i'm set.

I understand completely where you're coming from bro. I havent turned my back on an Akai EVER but the experience I've had with both the Ren and Studio have made me lose alot of time and messed up deadline situations aswell. You're not alone on that one. Working on these boards helped me appreciate the commands such as SAVE and UNDO soooo much more. those 2 commands alone have cost me time and $$ with the REN & Studio, but i roll with it. But only for so long...

As a previous 1000 user and a newish Ren user I have to say its taken a fair bit of adjustment. There are some features that I truly appreciate, like having a seperate monitor. But I can't seem to get over the fact that it isn't a stand alone unit. I think I will adapt and at the end of the day I will appreciate the work flow a lot more. Here is hoping

overall I'm very happy with it. I haven't had a single crash since 1.5. Before that it was insane. it crashed all the time. honestly now after 1.5 its great.

however, akai has a long ways to go to make this product really shine. Thats what people are so upset over. This thing has endless potential that isn't being utilized fully by the developers.

to answer your question: yes i am happy with it.

Damn, 1.6 been out a week and yall still having second thoughts on 1.5.
