Big announcement / Akai Related NAMM Discussion

i could see akai doing one of two things (possibly both):

1.) a new mpc (either a black renaissance LE, or a renaissance xl that works in standalone as well, also black.
2.) Version 2.0

Either way, it won't be available until summer at best. They'll then have numerous ads with that annoying "1-2-3" beat, a separate ad with Araabmuzik finger drumming and another with that andy mac guy talking about the 'legendary mpc workflow' and 'iconic sound' etc etc.

Either way I'm grabbing the popcorn and watching. I'm excited for NAMM in general. also its worth mentioning that roland will be the laughing stock of NAMM if they introduce a digital 808 / 909 :popcorn: :popcorn: :popcorn:

Lol my first drum machine was a 909. Why bring that back? SMH Back to the future type shit.

Yea I could see this happening minus the 1,2,3 and Araab stuff.. and Andy Mac is pretty good. as long as they don't use Dan Gill.. you need a dude who knows music to demonstrate your product

as for the actually new hardware, maybe they will release two models.. standalone unit as well as a computer only controller, because not every one cares for standalone capabilities

Why bring it back? Check second hand prices and there will be your answer. THE most important drum machine for house & techno music without exception!!!!!!

The way I see it..
the new hardware they showing at NAMM should have been the original unveiling date for the MPC Renaissance.. that's probably why updates are taking so long because the Ren was a rushed product to begin with.

what ever they showing at NAMM they took their time with it and put in all the features that should have been in the software from day one

for that.. ever mpc owner should get a huge discount.. like how N.I charged customers $100 for the software upgrade IMO the rite move.. Akai should do a $200-500 update that will include both 2.0 update as well as the new controller

because whatever they showing is the real beginning of the MPC Ren line.. or whatever they going to name it

Thinking about this update idea, I must say, although I'm quite happy with the ren, I won't be buying an update until they put in all the features I've been missing, once they have them in, I'll see what other users say about stability, and only then take the plunge.

Nothing new looking yet.

Would imagine they will not show anything to do with this 'big announcement' until the show is underway.

Unless that is MPC DJ near the front MPC Studio sign, or is it just another Numark DJ controller?

I dont understand why everybody is getting all worked up about the "Big News"...Its NOT going to be a new flag ship MPC!... Remember a few months back when they hyped up the Element and those over priced monitors....They acted like it was a Big deal.... Trusted me its not going to be as "Big" as everybody's speculating on the hardware side for sure!....Software maybe :popcorn: ..... Like I wrote earlier in the tread....

Here is my predictions on the Big Announcements....

1) They will show MPC Software update 1.7 with the release set for spring.

2) They will show a new MPC that will cost $250.00 to $300.00 dollars...It will look like the Element in shape but be a bit bigger in size and have no screen. It will have a fresh LED color scheme. It will have a lot more button function then the Element does to work and flow better with the MPC Software.

3) The Element will now come with MPC Software And they will be getting rid of the Essentials software.

4) Some kind of keyboard thing will be shown... :lol:

this as "Big" as it will get!.... :popcorn: :popcorn: :popcorn:

But what would be the purpose of that though...

the Element was over hyped.. but honestly I would be surprised if what they show has the same impact as the element did.. that would be terrible lol..

Dude we are talking about Nukai here any stupid dumb thing is possible...lol

A new flag ship MPC IMO wont be released until winter NAMM 2015 at best....We need to make it to 2.0 before the next flag ship is released...spring for 1.7... early or middle summer for 1.8... early or late fall for 1.9....Then 2.0 Winter NAMM 2015 New flag ship...This is the logical way it should go... But again we are talking about Nukai here...lol :popcorn: :popcorn: :popcorn:
