When I heard about the trouble people were having with the "hardware" update, I decided to wait until they fixed it. Seeing that 1.6 is out now, how do I update my hardware? Thanks!

1.6 didn't help with the firmware update. I finally found someone who would let me use their laptop to do it, it wouldn't let me update on my PC.

That said I was able to use 1.5 and 1.6 fine without the firmware upgrade.

Yes, it's a software update... No need to update hardware since it's gonna be able to not be disconnected...

I am on 1.4, I avoided the 1.5 update since everyone was having trouble with the "firmware" part of the update.

Has that been addressed? I want to upgrade to 1.5 and 1.6 but I want to be able to get the hardware update as well...

The hardware update allows you to use the software without the MPC attached correct?

That has already been answered above.

Someone said they still had the firmware update issue with 1.6.

Pete, the software developer, mentioned in tweets that the firmware update is only required for MIDI controller mode.

Someone also tried to say that the firmware update would make no difference to operation without the controller connected to the computer, because when it is not connected, the firmware is not being used.
