help me price a tt1200 i'm selling?

hey guys, i'm selling my tt1200 in favor of a usb turntable since i only have 2 inputs on my sound card and i don't do any dj stuff anyway

no dust cover or needle, everything else intact and in good condition, local pickup only. what would be a good and fair price to charge?

If it is a Technics 1200 with no dust cover or needle I'm sure you could still easily sell it for 800-600$ if it is in good condition. However I'm not sure what deck you're referring to when you say "TT1200." I just assumed you were speaking of the Technics 1200 Mk2.

Nym, you definitely be able to sell it. Depending on the condition for 300-400. But that is PERFECT condition.

You can get pairs around here is nice shape for $500 easy.

i would probably say $50-100 is a good deal, likely closer to the 50.

however that is a much nicer table than any usb joint you would find. if you could handle it, keep it around for listening / sampling. throw it in the living room. for the same price you'll make off selling it you'll get a usb table that is 1/4 the quality. however, i can appreciate convenience / simplicity so by all means do what yer gonna do. there will always be another turntable down the road.

but that's a $50 table - since yer in the land of higher prices, you could feasibly ask $100 and see what happens - though i think that's incredibly generous, only giving it to you on account of you being a smart cookie.

nah this is a technics but not an mkii i don't think.

ultimately sound quality and convenience is all i care about. i have 2 mics that i'm using a lot more than my record player inputs these days, so i was hoping to move to an audio over usb solution instead.

nice! i have an mkii then, in great condition...i even replaced the output cables at one point to high quality and durable components.

i know the usb option is way less cool but if i can come up on a couple hundred i really shouldn't hold onto the mkii. don't have enough space for it.

I'm with Mike Boogie… the older silver Technics 1200's (not black 1210's) are easily going for $300-400 on eBay.
I haven't seen a real price increase on used Technics 1200/1210's since Panasonic "stated" in 2010 that they stopped making them.

Its worth what you can get for ! but 300~400 seems about right last time I checked

Yeah single 1200 mk2's are going for around that price here in the UK while pairs of 1200 mk2's are around the 600~700 price range.

well it sounds like you have made your mind up already vs getting advice on it... but I somehow doubt any of those USB tables will have better phono pre-amps or AD converters than what you are already using... if that even matters to you...

i'd have to A/B it. comparing samples recorded from my numark pt01 / tt1200, you could tell the tt1200's needle sounded markedly better.

sounds like you could use another turntable, which is great cuz i know somebody who is selling one!

for real though i may move to thailand/vietnam someday before too long and i'd need to sell my monitors, tts, and other bulky stuff.

Thats a reason but still....the Technics SL1200 is a turntable for a LIFETIME especially if you don't use it on stage or for DJing in general. I bought mine over 20 years ago and used it for parties, scratching etc and it still runs. I'm sure your 1200 would like to see Thailand/Vietnam. And it won't dissapoint you if you take it with you
