At that price they have to be good though,as they are entering the world of higher end headphones. Props to Akai for stepping outside the box and doing something different that's been needed, good headphones with great low end are not an easy find.

Forget that shit, buy some real headphones, from a real pro-audio company!

Still honestly not sure how much the product managers will decide to show at NAMM.
There's a lot brewing, but it's not going to land in a few weeks due to the v1.6 delays.

Good to know there's things cooking for Ren!

Not trying to give you a hard time... but. How do you assume this from his statement? This could mean the blinged-out MPK88 controller that's not been pictured yet. Your optimism is commendable, but this is the same person that called v1.6 "goodness", and led on that NAMM would be good from an MPC perspective.

Something my dad always told me - if you want to know someone's true intentions, deal with them as if you are deaf - you can't hear what they say, you can only see what they do. Regardless of Akai's hype, watching what they are doing at NAMM, Pete's statement doesn't really say much.

But I'm supposed to be on the low for a couple more days, to see if they happen to say anything about the MPC software... Lol.

Maschine has been around longer than the Ren. They're already up to version 2.0 of their software, and they have 3 different models of the hardware. Everyone knew, or at least should have assumed that it would take a while to catch up to a product that was already a few years ahead in development. Maybe there is more in store for the Ren. It would really be a shame if there wasn't because competition among manufacturers is a good thing for consumers.

From reading between the lines, I think Pete was always referring to having the next update of MPC Software ready, in regards to the more goodness than 1.6 at NAMM comment, and his comments were probably not related to their 'big announcement' hype.

It seems that he has probably only just made 1.7 ready for beta testing, and is unsure what the product managers will show of it at NAMM.

I just learned (probably I'm late) that he is a software guy, so what you are saying makes sense.

And about this "big announcement", I'm still waiting for it. Can't say that I've seen one yet.

I asked him, "So…any Ren stuff at NAMM?" and that was his response.
