I'd like to see some videos of Akai's booth if anyone comes across them, I really hope they have more to show then just a new line of midi keyboards :| :roll:

Still wondering...
Could they be previewing 1.7?
Did they ditch that MPC DJ thing?
Are they holding back any announcements till the 23rd or after?

Seems like every company has some dope new innovative products except akai, who are STILL trying to get the BASICS of an MPC interface right on this FLAGSHIP mpc in 2014 when at the same time they have mpc60s, mpc3000s, mpc4000s, 2000xls, 2500s laying around that their company made 20 years ago that work great :hmmm: sometimes I think akai lost the blueprints to every mpc of the past and now they are starting over lol

Well to be fair.. the companies who have dope innovation also haven't come out with new stuff in awhile.. like IK Multimedia, Roland etc..

Roland is fine, even their fantoms can easily go toe to toe with any mpc. Too bad they don't make mv's anymore, those things put mpcs to shame

I pre-ordered my MPK249 the other day...

It will be here before the end of next week so they are ahead of schedule on rolling them out. Will post up how the new keybed is.

This is a move in the right direction for AKAI. The MPC pads, revamped keybed and the ASCII assignable buttons and cursor keys were a no-brainer for me.

Glad to see they're shipping already. Keep me updated. I'm looking forward to buying the MPK249 as well.

Tru... I got u.

One thing I am skeptical of is the pads. They said a few times that these were "genuine MPC pads ported over from the MPC Ren"....but this doesn't pass the eye test.

The Rens pads indeed look more substantial and just different altogether where as the new MPK's pads look much close to the MPK Mini pads...which were utter garbage.
