jive records

just talked to someone that works at jive. said i should send some of my stuff in. has anyone else in here submitted music to a record company? i want my first impression to be good so any tips would be helpful.

Usually: unless it is solicited or going to someone directly, it will get lost in the mix of things. Even when it's got an ATTN on it, it most likely won't get listened to unless you know the A&R and have arranged with him the sending of your material.

Btw, try posting this on the Business forum. You will get better answers.

I know this is a late reply, but I sent some remixes up there in April. They sent them back with the usual "we dont accept unsolicited material" stamps on it. I called and they told me to send it back with the paticular A&R's attn, but I have'nt gotten word back. For the record I dont know the A&R I spoke with the sec. both times.

I just got the reply email. I hope you get this. I sent it to David Stamm first. Then they sent it back. The secretary then told me 2send it to Wayne Williams. Oh the secretary's name is Lindsey. But still no word back.
